Should effect of software patents be limited?

Patents threaten every software developer, and the patent wars we have long feared have broken out. Software developers and software users – which in our society, is most people – need software to be free of patents. We don't want to face the situation when someday some company comes to you and say that your software uses their patent. Should we limit the effect of software patents?

I am agree with limiting the effect of software patents. Sometimes it's very easy for us to use some designs or components without knowing that they are patented. It may bring to us some unknown potential affections when our apps are online. But instead of limiting effect of software patent, I prefer to constrain what can be patented in software. Some commonly used designs may not be patented.
